Your Musician Profile
The majority of our class time is devoted to group rehearsal techniques and group lessons. The bulk of your individual mark and progress will come from what you present in your indivodual musician profile.
Each band and choral student has been given a weebly education username and password to build their own online profile. The profile will be assessed at four times throughout the school year. Your online profile will include evidence of your learning and will be arranged in the following manner:

Musical Literacy
The musical literacy page of your profile will include evidence of your best scores in the musical literacy tests on this online space. Follow the schedule as posted in the Musical Literacy page on this website to find out which rhythm and theory tests you should be completeing by particular term dates. You may do these tests as many times as you like until you acheive a score that shows your best performance.
Aural Skills
The aural skills page of your profile will include evidence of your best scores in the aural skills tests on this online space. Follow the schedule as posted in the aural skills page on this website to find out which tests you should be completeing by particular term dates. You may do these tests as many times as you like until you acheive a score that shows your best performance.
Instrumental/Vocal Technique
This page of your profile will include evidence of your fingering knowledge by posting your best scores in musicracer. You will also upload recordings of yourself playing along with the provided recordings of our repertiore. Check the instrumental/vocal technique page for which songs should be completed by which dates.
Accompanying these recordings of yourself will be a one paragraph reflection on what you did well in the recording and what you need to work on.
At the end of term 2 and 4 you will also be expected to scan in your music and upload it to this page with all of your markings you have made after listening to yoru recordings or from feedback in class including:
- articulations
- dynamics
- phrasing
- note mistakes
- key signatures etc.

This page of your profile should be posted like a blog, and should be added to weekly. The content of the blog should include the following:
* What you practiced that week ( not just songs, but bars and sections) and why you chose to practice them
* Youtube recordings of instrumentalists, vocalists, and ensembles whom you think are good and why
* Instrumental/Choral music that you are listening to outside of our class repertiore and what it makes you feel/think of/wonder and why
This is your chance to geek out on your instrument. There are some great performances and tutorials out there that could completely change the way you play/sing and or listen to music. This is yoru chance to find them and share them.
